A lot of opposers of the Bible like to make the point that it is written by men for men and that a woman’s place is shackled in matrimony. Nothing and I mean nothing can be any further from the truth. Ladies we have the ultimate girl dad. Yes, we were made from a man’s rib, we are the missing piece meant to be found, cherished, and protected. In the wedding ceremony, the Father of the Bride gives his daughter away. In the biblical sense, God will only give us to the man that he made us for. Until such a time as this occurs, if and only if it is God’s will for your life, God wants his daughters to be bold in him. To proclaim his gospel, to teach others of the Heavenly Father that believes we are a treasured masterpiece.
I want to give you some examples. Deborah. A prophetess, a wife, and judge over all Israel. She prophesied for the Lord and commanded the armies of Israel in the name of her Heavenly Father. Esther. Common Jew elevated to Queen of Persia. God gave her the platform and he gave her the strength to go to her husband the king, uninvited. He gave her favor in the king’s sight and gave her the boldness to save her people from total genocide. Hannah. She prayed for years and years. She sought the Lord and petitioned for a child. She believed that God could and would give her what her heart desired. Her persistence paid off. She gave birth to one of the Great prophets Samuel, and rather than keeping him to herself she remembered her promise and gave his life back to her Heavenly Father. Mary. “The favored one” as it says in Luke 1:28. She was chosen to carry the most precious gift the world never knew it needed. She carried and gave birth to the Messiah. Our Lord and Savior. The King of Kings. All because of her humble obedience to the Heavenly Father. Mary Magdalene. Possessed by seven demons, one day an encounter with Jesus changed her whole life. Not only was she one of Jesus’ followers, she was the first person to see Jesus after his resurrection. She was told to go and tell the other disciples what she had seen and to share the greatest news of all. Jesus was alive and had conquered death.
“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” –Proverbs 31:25-26
When someone tells you that God wants a woman to simper in a corner somewhere, tell them to read the word of God. God gives us strengths and he gives us talents that only we are equipped to handle. He gives us a calling that no one else has. He loves and uses all of his children. Because we are all sons and DAUGHTERS of the King of Kings. Have a blessed night y’all!
