Slippery Slope.

When you give your life to Christ, and work to change yourself, no one tells you how easy it is to slip back in to who you once were. Sure, you are told that if it happens you remain strong and you will overcome. But somethings you are not meant to overcome. Some things you are meant to run far, far away from and never look back. I give you exhibit A. Lot’s wife. Lot was told by the angel of the Lord to take his family and run and to not look back. As they were fleeing the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, for some reason we may never know, Lot’s wife glanced back over her shoulder. In doing so she disobeyed the word of God and was turned into a pillar of salt. {Gen. 19:23-26} That one glance back cost her everything. And going back to something God has delivered you from will do the same to you. It can cost you your peace, your freedom, and most of all it may cost you eternity.

“But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.”

–Colossians 3:8-10 ESV

The enemy is on the hunt. He has little time left and he plans to take as many souls with him as he can. He is deceitful, manipulative, and most of all he is a liar. He knows our weakness and will not hesitate to use this knowledge to its fullest potential. We are human and that is our weakness. We will fall. The only difference between us and the enemy is that we have hope. Jesus came and died for us to give us back our hope. To redeem what we could never change on our own. He came to give us a chance at life. The life we were meant to have at creation. Life as one with our creator. Life abundant and full of love and peace. Don’t let the enemy win. Don’t let him deprive you of the future God has ahead of you. Whatever is calling you back is not worth missing what is pulling you forward.

“And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

–Matthew 26:40-41 ESV

Pray. Pray for yourself. Pray for others. Time is running out. Pray and hold fast to the truth. For truth will set you free. Have a blessed night y’all!
