Do you remember the day you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior and invited him into your heart? It’s a special day that is hard to forget. I know mine is a bit different. I was raised in church and very active in service, but I didn’t truly know the meaning and significance until my teens. I’ve noticed a few things over the years. We in church encourage people to give their lives to Christ and celebrate when they do. However, the part that is usually left out of the sermon is that once you leave the doors of that sanctuary, the real battle begins. See, you just did something that the enemy will not tolerate. He is after your soul. He wants to keep you in sin and keep you in this world because if you are living for the world, you are his, and since he is going to be punished, he wants to take as many souls with him as he can.
“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”
—Romans 8:5-8 ESV
We as followers of God are meant to be a community. We take care of one another. We lift each other up. Rejoice in the triumphs and comfort in the sorrows.
“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many.”
—1 Corinthians 12:12-14 ESV
We are the body of Christ. We are his church. We are one people. No matter your circumstances love one another and do not let the enemy destroy the beautiful life you have been given. Have a blessed day y’all!
