This one is going to be a bit different. I am currently on a journey of self-discovery as it were. I feel like God is dealing with me and showing me things that I have never noticed before. My last post talked about dangerous prayers; this post is about what happens after. You know how I said dangerous prayers are meant to change you? Well, think of yourself as a piece of clay. You have no form, you have no purpose, you are just sitting on the shelf. Then, the potter chooses you. He begins to work. He shapes, he forms, he refines. He molds you into a masterpiece with power, a purpose, gifts, and abilities. He creates you in his wonderful image for his extraordinary purpose. Once complete, the vessel must go into the kiln. The kiln by definition is an oven used for firing pottery. Without the fire, the vessel will never stand up to its purpose and it will fall apart at the first test. While the fire may seem like an unending trial, you will not break. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Created for a time such as this. And you will never go through the fire alone.
“The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will let you hear my words.” So, I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was working at his wheel. And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to do. Then the word of the Lord came to me: “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter has done? declares the Lord. Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.”— Jeremiah 18:1-6 ESV
This world is our kiln, our circumstances are the fire, and we are the vessel lovingly shaped and perfectly made to serve the purpose of our Heavenly Father. The circumstances won’t last forever and you will come out so much stronger on the other side. Have a blessed night y’all!
