Reflection—noun.

1.) an image representation; counterpart

2.) a fixing of thoughts on something; careful consideration.

As you probably can tell, I love words. So many meanings and uses not just in English but in languages around the world. Take reflection for instance. The Hebrew language has several words for the word reflection. I will look at two. First, is הִשׁתַקְפוּת (hish’tak’fut) meaning to bend something back or mirror. We are called to mirror Christ in our life, so that he can be seen not us. The second word is סלאח (slach) more commonly known as “Selah”. Selah is used throughout the Bible in prayer and in praise. It means to reflect in prayer and contemplation. We are called to reflect on the teachings of God. To hold his word in our heart and engrave it on our life. So there is no mistaking that you are a child of the most High.

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: for he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”

‭‭—James‬ ‭1‬:‭22‬-‭25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Reflect today on everything that God has done in your life. The blessings he has both given and the blessing of things taken away.  Start with a word God lays on your heart and search the Bible for instances of it. He will show you wonders you have never imagined. Have a blessed day y’all!
