Every day we face a new spiritual battle. The enemy seeks to steal, to kill, and to destroy us by any means necessary. He knows our weaknesses and will not hesitate to throw them back in our faces. He will plant seeds of doubt in an effort to kill the fruit that is growing for God. He will make you question everything you hold true in an effort to weaken you and to drag you back into the darkness. But I take heart that if the enemy is fighting me that hard, then I am doing something right. If he is trying to tear me down, then my elevation is coming. If he is trying to keep me silent, that means my words have a true impact.
“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:”
—1 Timothy 1:15-19 KJV
The enemy we face has already been defeated. Jesus won our freedom on that cross. The enemy has no place and no hope. He might win a battle but he’s already lost the war. Because fighting by our side is the living God, our Lord and Savior, and all the host of heaven. Each and every scar, seen and unseen, is a precious reminder that you made it through and that you still have a job to do on this earth. You are never alone. Have a blessed day!
