Random Ramblings Of An Imperfect Girl, Loved by a Perfect God.

I love this time of year. All the lights, decorations, and time with the ones we love. But there is something that tends to get lost in the holiday shuffle. The reason for the season. Jesus came to earth as a small child, so he could learn and grow and teach us how to live as God intended. Emmanuel means God with us. God himself came to earth to walk with us. To save us from ourselves and the trap we put ourselves in.

”And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.“—Matthew 1:21-23 KJV

God came to be with us on earth and to die for our sins in the ultimate expression of love. That while we were yet sinners he died so that we would have eternal life. So while enjoying all the holiday excitement, never forget the true reason for the season.
