We all know the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover” but do we actually live by it? I know I am guilty of passing judgement too quickly without even thinking. It’s almost an automatic. But really, we don’t know what God has asked people to walk through. We don’t know the circumstances someone is dealing with at any given moment. I will give you a personal example. I have always been a shy quiet person. Anxious that what I say or do would make someone mad or upset them or make me feel stupid. And being shy and quiet, most of my life I have been called a snob or that there is something wrong with me. That only reinforced what I already thought about myself.
“Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.”—Hebrews 13:1-3 KJV
We are all broken vessels being repaired by the Potter. We all have a purpose and when we draw breath in the morning we know that purpose is not yet complete. God has given each of us unique battles to face. Nothing and no one is as they seem at first word or glance. God will guide you in all of your interactions if you let him.
