Fear is a very present and unwelcome companion in life. I know the obsessive perfectionist in me fears the uncertain and unknown. I begin to over analyze and to create the worst case scenarios in my head so that way when it happens it might hurt less. Sadly that never works and never will.
However in the Bible, the Lord tells us not to fear 365 times. That’s a do not fear for every day of the year. A gentle reminder that God is with us, we are not alone.
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;”—2 Timothy 1:7-8 KJV
We are loved and cherished by a perfect unfailing God. He is our strength and our peace in times of uncertainty. We just need to keep telling ourselves and our fear to get out of the way so God can work.
