It has been said that whatever you do, do it with all your heart. I agree with this but I think there is another part that often gets overlooked. We can work and work and do all we can so the world sees us as a good person. But the world is not our home. We are just passing through. God has given each of us a job in his name that we need to accomplish during our time on this earth. Without God in our hearts, and without accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior who died to give us a true life in God; we are like fog just passing through this world with no shape and existing only in the in between.
“For all his days are sorrows, and his travail grief; yea, his heart taketh not rest in the night. This is also vanity.”—Ecclesiastes 2:23 KJV
“For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.”—Ecclesiastes 2:26 KJV
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: A good understanding have all they that do his commandments: His praise endureth for ever.”—Psalm 111:10 KJV
We have a purpose and that purpose can only be found when we truly turn our heart over to God. He is our Savior and he is our portion forever and ever. Amen.
